Testing of Y-DNA can give the probablility of a recent common ancestor. It can not identify a person nor establish an exact relationship of two people. It is most useful in helping to determine if one is a particular line. e.g. the Dills from Donegal, or the Dills from Germany. Extensive information on testing companies and databases can be found on http://www.kerchner.com/dna-info.htm An independent comparison of services can be found at http://www.millerfamilyhistory.com/Genealogy%20DNA%20Testing%20Services%20Comparison.htm Comparison of results can be posted at Ybase or Ysearch.
