As a follow-up to my own message I should also mention that the Dills came out of Maryland and went into the Yadkin Valley of Rowan County, NC about 1750. The Dills were from Maryland. This is documented in the book CAROLINA CRADLE which can be found in many genealogy libraries. My family married into the Dill family in 1769 and evntually went to Wayne County, Tenn. as well in the 1820s. The progenitor of this Dill line is HENRY DILL who may have come from Ireland and settled in Mass. before going to Maryland. It is believed by me and some other Dill researchers that Henry was related to the Dills of Delaware, but we can not find any proof of that at this time./ MGC.
