an appeal to Irish DILL researchers ...

George W. DILL was b. 1824 IN according to the 1850 MO and 1860 IA census records. George served in the Civil War from IA and mustered out in 1865 in Arkansas (no pension) and I can't find him after that time. His wife, Elizabeth MYERS DILL, divorced him in 1866 (Sullivan Co. MO) and while he was apparently still living, he did not attend the proceedings. His sons, Henry and Thomas, along with their sister, Ida May, said throughout their lives their father George was born in Ireland. While they might have confused the generations, it seems likely this line had come from Ireland in recent years. I've had no luck finding George's parents or sibs in Indiana so I am hoping someone familiar with the Irish lines might recognize him and lend a welcome hand to my search. I'd be grateful.
