Marie Patterson, 92, of Decatur, Ark., died Feb. 12, 2006 at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Siloam Springs, Ark. Born Oct. 3, 1913 in Locust Grove, Okla., she was the daughter of Jasper Dill and Cecil Ownby Dill.
She had lived most of her life in the Decatur/Falling Springs area where she raised her family and was the longtime cook at the Patio Café in Decatur. She was a member of Falling Springs Church, near Decatur. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Orval Patterson; two brothers, Gene and Buster Dill; four sisters, Louise Johnson, Lula Florer, Leta Tucker, and Lena Hook; two grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Orval Patterson Jr. and wife Ruby of Tulsa, Okla., and Darl Patterson and wife Maudine of Siloam Springs, Ark.; two daughters, Joan Meek and husband Bob of Decatur, and Carroll Underdown and husband Roger of Gentry, Ark.; 15 grandchildren; 34 greatgrandchildren; 19 great-greatgrandchildren; and five sisters, Alice Guss of Decatur, Frances Peterson of Decatur, Mona Goldman of Decatur, Jewell Lashmett of Lusk, Wyo., and Donnie Windmiller of Sacramento, Calif.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 15 at Falling Springs Church near Decatur with Larry Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Falling Springs Cemetery.
