I Am Carol Dill Clay responding to sherry stanley re: John & Mary Dill, land deed, Ohio 1808. I have a Mary Dill who married John Reeves and they resided for a time in Ross County, Ohio. Mary was daughter of Thomas Dill of Dillsburg, Pa. Thomas was the son of James Dill of same and James was son of Mathew Dill of Dillsburg, York County, PA. Mathew came from Ireland with his wife Mary. He was of Scots/Irish decent. I have much more on these families if you are interested. I am wondering if this Dill/Reeves is related to your Dill---- Thank you sunycarol more about Mary Dill--B in Belfast, Ireland abt 1780, parents Thomas Dill and Rebecca Hamilton. Thomas, son of JamesDill was b: probably Dills, York County, PA 1 Dec 1751 and died in Ross County, Ohio spring of 1834. He had gone back to Ireland on business during the Rev. war and boarded with the Hamilton family of Enniskellen. There he met and married , the 15 year old Rebecca who had 18 brothers. They had two children, James and mary before coming to America, back to Dills, PA.
