I have no relation to this family, just trying to help.
I have in hand letter dated Jan. 11, 1863 from James Dill, a chaplain in theCivil War to his wife. She has penned on the back "Your father's last letterhome written from the boat on which he went to Nashville." " Please preserve
for family". Somehow these letters got misplaced and they were in a deskthat I purchased in N.Y. state. I would love to return them to the family if they are out there somewhere. jlitteer@sc.rr.com is my email address.
