Celia:
Sorry to say I do not have any of those names. The closest is: Dr: James Madison Dill B: 1832 D: 1916 M: Jestine Kelton. Children: Kate, Annie, Scobey and Joseph. I expect "Madison" was a family name. I will try to give you a little general information that may help. I'm reasonable sure your Dill's were/are here.
My line migrated from MD to Spartenburg, SC, to Wilson Co., TN in the late 1700's and early 1800's. I think they are English and also spent time in Charleston, SC.They had large families. Rutherford Co., TN was made from Wilson Co., TN in 1803 and the records are excellent. Wilson Co is not quiet as good. If you have not already done so, try the TN and SC census.
As you know, this research is time consuming and I just have not gotten to everything. My grandmother was Lavinia Dill M: William Harris Hopkins January 18, 1866. This is around your time frame, so your folks were probably of that generation. My grandmother's father was one of 12 children, so you can see the possibilities.
We still have a J Madison Dill in the phone book.
Sorry I could not be of more helpful. If you turn up anything else, I have eleven generations, after generation No 6 it is my direct line.
