I AM LOOKING FOR THE PARENTS of John Diggs (Degge, or Digges) and his wife, Lucy, of Louisa Co., VA. John was b. ca 1730 and died before 9 Sept. 1776 in Louisa Co., VA. Thomas Diggs (believed to be his son) was the administrator of his estate. Thomas and Ann Diggs, along with Lucy Diggs, widow of John Diggs dec'd of Louisa Co., deeded 100 acres to William Busby 6 March 1795.
St. Paul's Parrish Vestry Book, Hanover Co., VA 1706-1786, No. 11 (248) records John Degge being ordered into a precinct for processioning his lands and that of his neighors. (pp. 316-317 of the 1973 reprint) IS THAT JOHN THE SAME JOHN WHO M. LUCY?
John and Lucy had at least two children: (1) Thomas b. ca 1760, m. Ann Kent of Albemarle in Goochland Co., VA 9 June 1775. They had three or four children: Thomas, Jr. b. 1780-1790, Polley (?) m. James Stodgel 28 April 1800, Louisa Co., VA (Thomas was surety), Lucy b. ca 1786, m. Richard Holland 23 Dec 1806 in Louisa Co., VA, and John, b. 25 Aug. 1783, d. bef. 22 July 1839, m. 3 Feb. 1813 Elizabeth Price Anthony in Louisa Co., VA. WHO ARE ANN KENT'S PARENTS? WHO ARE ELIZABETH PRICE ANTHONY'S PARENTS?
(2) John Diggs, m. Dorothea Anthony, dau. of James Anthony, 8 March 1790 in Louisa Co., VA, d. 12 Aug. 1824, Louisa Co., VA. Their children were: Anthony, George H., and Lucy who m. Nathaniel Tate.
