Sorry that I did not notice your query until today.

Nathaniel Washington Diggs was the oldest son of John Diggs, Jr. who married Elizabeth Price Anthony in February of 1813 in Louisa Co., VA. John died before 22 July 1839 in Louisa Co., VA. Betsy died ca 1860 in Louisa Co., VA. She was listed on the 1860 Federal Census of Louisa Co. as being 65 yrs. old. (The 1850 Census lists her as 61 yrs. old) Her obituary stated that she died on October 14th in her 66th year, so I assume that she died a couple of months after the 1860 census was taken in July of 1860. Her age in the 1850 Census and her age on her obituary had earlier led me to believe that she died about 1854. Since she was alive in the 1860 census, she must have died in 1860 after she had reached her 65th birthday.

John was the son of Thomas Diggs and Ann Kent. Nathaniel with his cousin, William M. Diggs, was executor of his grandfather's, Thomas', will which was proved in court August 14, 1843 in Louisa Co., VA. Thomas's sons, Thomas, Jr. and John, died before their father, and Thomas named his eldest grandsons executors of his will.

My husband is descended from Samuel, brother of Nathaniel. I believe we are related as another descendent of Nathaniel has told me that some of his descendents married Perkins.
