In 1993 while visiting an antique store in Suisun, CA., my husband found a Bible with family history information in it. The shop owner stated it had come from an attic of a house in Rio Vista, CA. My husband asked if he could take the Bible to a copy machine where he would copy the family information and return the Bible to her, and she agreed. We have the copies. My husband checked in the store sometime ago, but the Bible was no longer there. He copied 4 pages and a loose narrative that was also contained genealogical information. This appeared to be the first page. "This is to certify that Thomas Francis Diggs of Boonsboro Md and Margaret Frances Carson of Boonsboro Md were united by me in Holy Matrimony at Boonsboro MD on the 28th day of May in the year of our Lord 1874 in the presence of Will Danner and Dr. Wheeler signed Minister." The typed narrative reads," Thomas Frances Diggs was born Oct. 18, 1853 in West Virginia. The only child of Isaac and Rebecca Diggs died Dec. 4, 1938 in Redlands, California. In Boonesborough, Maryland at the age of 22, he was united in marriage to Margaret Francis Carson, who proceeded him in death July 8, 1935. To this union were born ten children, eight of which survive; Homer and Hubert of Nampa, Fred L. of Boise, Chas. C. of Relands, Calif., Robert H. of Portland, George E., Bend, Oregon, two daughters; Elizabeth May Ringo, San Bernardino, Calif, and Mrs. Emma Coon. One son, William Edgar died six years ago, and one daughter, Mrs. Maude Lockhoven, two years ago. Eleven grandchildren and seven great gradnchildren survive. Mr. Diggs was one of the early settlers in Deer Flat, homesteading there thirty years ago. The later years of his life, he resided in Kuna and Nampa, leaving here two years ago to make his home with his son, Chas. in Redlands, Calif. where he passed away after a few hours illness. Mr. Diggs was baptized in the Christian Church ten years ago in San Bernardino, Calif. on his return to Kuna, Idaho was a faithful attendant at the Methodist church."
