Connie: according to a family group sheet I have, Lenerouc (Leon) King DIGGS(I) was b. Feb 27 1841 in Tenn m Dora Ann Edwards July 18 1861 d Hunt Co. TX ? This is the Father of your Leon.
Siblings were Wm, Mary J, Nancy A, James, Thomas, Will, Elisha Martin. This family (as well as cousins) migrated from Carroll Co. to MS ca 1846; AR ca 1862, to TX 1870-75.
Leon DIGGS parents were Richard Michael Diggs and Martha Martin.
Leon's brother, Elisha, is buried in Lamar Co. TX.
The info I have indicates Leon II was born Aug 29 1862 in Calhoun Co. Ark, d. Hunt Co. TX 25 June 1902, and married Lou C. HERD 15 June 1890.
His siblings were James Wesley, Elisha & Elias, all born in Ark.
His Elisha's grandaughter, Fran Gillich lives in Midlothian and can give you more info on this side of the family. <norma@netking.net>
Descendents of this family are in TX, California, Oregon, and Washington.
