Mr. Tyner, I do not read archaic either, but wonder if the name you seek was not SCHARF.For what it'worth, I think I saw where the Scharf family is connected (how I have forgotten) to the Elrods, maybe in Rowan County NC. These Elrods were connected to the Diffey bunch from NC. Years ago I would go nearly one hundred miles over to Jackson, to do the research, but now just try to do a little over the internet.
