Hello Mr. Tyner, The "Family Search Library" shows an Alexander Diffey born 1828 died 1848. It gave full dates on both events. Could you tell me who this is?

It appears to me that the Alexander Diffey that Married the Spurrier died 1863 as did two of his children, Oliver Woodside and Francis M. Alexander served with the Union Army as a Railroad Engineer, I think there were others affiliated with the railroad, and probally traveled where needed. Might I suggest you look at Alexander defee in the Michigan census. I cannot remember exactly what year,
1850?? I do not think that he was related to the Alexander DeFees of the Darlington, South Carolina area.
Keep in touch. John Diffey
