Ms. Parker, You are too gooood to me. The last few days I have been in contact with two others with intrest in Maryland Diffeys. On this forum JoAnn Diffey Hall was looking for her father, she was born right up the road from my home at Itta Bena Ms. She indicated that he was in the cotton business. Rebecca Baer said that one of her ancestors was Thomas Spurrier Diffey, and he too had to do with cotton gins and etc. I think she told me that he died
at age 96, maybe in Kansas, this made him born 1849. This is the same year as the Thomas Diffey of Md who was in Memphis,Tn. 1870 census and Little Rock, Arkansas 1880 census. If they were the same man, he changed wives.
