Would like to hear from anyone else researching Diffey/ie/y/ee family who lived in Madison county, AL in the early 1830's.
William Diffee IV (William III, John, William Jr, William Sr) b 1808 NC married Mary Sumple Carroll. They had two daughters, Lucy Ann b 1835, Appalonia b 1839, twin sons WIlliam and Thomas b 1842 but died bef 1850.
Lucy Ann married Addison Bailey and Appalonia married W H Hodges (TN) and Littleberry Boswell (TN)
Family history has passed down that Appalonia was Cherokee Indian and adopted by the family. She was possibly a Trail of Tears baby.
Please contact me if any of the names are in your research. I am trying to verify Appalonia's descendancy.
