John, I don't know if Elizabeth Diffee was married to Thomas or William, but an Elizabeth Allred left a will in 1827, which mentions a son, Moses Allred. It's my firm belief that this Moses is the one on the 1830, Jefferson Co., Census, and who earlier was in Franklin Co., Georgia. On the 1850, Jefferson Co., Census, besides, your Margaret (Westmoreland) Diffey and Reid family, are Moses' grown children, Isaac, Thomas, and Margaret (Allred) Rogers. To me, this lends credence to the "theory" of these Allreds being kin to the Diffey family. I understand a branch of the Reid family moved from Jefferson/Blount Counties to Wood Co., Texas. Isaac Allred, along with a couple of other families, also moved from Jefferson/Blount to Wood County, Texas about the same time. Isaac has been found to be kin, of some sort, to the Thomas Allred who married Margaret Alldredge, and lived in Blount Co., AL. Just wanted to pass this information along for you to consider. If you or anyone has any questions, please feel free to email me. Valerie Notify Administrator about this message?
