Sally Dietz, born in 1803,was never married. She lived in Lincoln/Catawba counties in NC all of her life. Her mother was Sarah Killian Dietz and her father was Jacob Dietz.In 1827 Sally had a son, Jonas Conrad Killian[my g,g, grandfather]. After fifty years of searching by the entire Killian family far and wide, we have been unable to locate Jonas' father. There is no bastardy bond, and Jonas was indentured to three different people, one of which was his uncle Israel Dietz, and another was a David Killian, which constitutes a LARGE group of possibilities.
We have DNA testing results and are biologically certain that Jonas is a descendant of Andreas Killian, the grandfather of Sarah Killian Dietz. Not even his Civil War pension record denotes his father or ANY reference to who that person could be.
Any clues on this missing person[Jonas' father] would be immensely appreciated.
