I just found out that my mostly Mexican husband has a German great grandfather named Friedrich Dietz. He likely immigrated from Germany to Mexico about 1870s when the German government was telling people to leave or starve. He settled in Neuva Leon, Mexico. The family story is that he was a doctor. He fathered a child by a Mexican staff member of his household by the name of Julia Trevina Gonzalez. Any connections?
