I am researching David Deits, born ca. 1796 in eddyville, ulster co. ny. He married Patience Tilson there and then moved to Beaverdam Wisconsin around 1840. Although he spelled his name Deits (I have documentary evidence) as have his ancestors (I'm his ggggson), it is likely that his father, at least, was a Dietz. I know Dietz genealogy is complex at that time and place (I have looked at the bernehistory dietz family site) but I can't seem to make progress on identifying his parents.

Any help would be appreciated, and I would be happy to share what results I have on this variation of the 'Dietz' line.
