My Grandfather John W. Dietz dob 09/02/1874, His father was
John Dietz born 04/11/1840 in Heesse Rearmstadt (Now Germany so I was told) he was younger that 18 when he came to America. I have a photocopt of his Citizenship Papers filed in Butler County Ohio where his nave was spelled Deitz and he signed it as such. I do not know where or when the spelling changed but all decendents use Dietz. The older John was married to Laura Hillebreth 09/30/1865. I have a list of many more names and marriages from my mother.
