Here is more than perhaps you wanted to know ... Louisa Dietz who married Frank Faulkner was my maternal grandmother. She was married four times. Maiden name Dietz, final name Faulkner. I knew her last two husbands. She was "hell on wheels" ... family ledgend is that she jumped the convent fence at 15. Shot two guys on different occasions - home intruders. Back then you could shoot home intruders rather than now having to apologize to them and their lawyers for putting your home in their way. Dig deep enough and the Dietz family may have been Catholic, at least she was. Converted to something else. Her brother and sisters that I can remember were: Frank Dietz, Emma Hollinsworth, and Mary Tindall. Her daughter Marie (my mother) was first cousin to Robert Tindall. Robert's father was Ray Tindall and his mother was Mary. At one time Ray Tindall had been a judge and much before that may have owned a pool hall in some small Indiana town. My Pop owned a pool hall - that's why he and Great Uncle Ray got along so well. Lousia's son was Frank Owens as was his son (my first cousin Frank, nicknamed Sonny). He was married and had a bunch of kids. This all happened in Indianapolis, Indiana. The genealogy could get confusing with all of the "Franks". My sister married a Frank and her son is a Frank. Robert Tindall was at least a captain in the US Army during WWII and may have been decorated for bravery, etc. My Pop always referred to "Bobby's" service as him being a hero. I remember a steamer trunk full of German Army momentos. Robert eventually lived in the Toledo, Ohio area and was an executive for a costume jewelry company that (originally) sold their goods at home parties, like Tupperware parties (his first party was at my mom's house in Indianapolis). Robert may have had an older sister - Mary? If any of this rings a bell and if you are related to Kent Tindall, Robert's son, then we are distant cousins or cousins-in-law. Kent and I are about the same age 60-61. We were born in Indiana and both lived outside of Minneapolis during the late 60's - early 70's. He lived next door to a chap who was the free safety for the Minnesota Vikings. Nice kid. Southern. Bobby Bryant. Kent and his family moved to California. I believe that he got divorced. I moved on to several locations. Kent had a couple of sisters and I believe twin brothers who were considerable younger. Robert died fairly young (in his forties). His widow (? mental blank) moved to Florida. I can remember a (great) Aunt Emma who was married to Uncle ? (I'll check a family member on that name - I'm thinking another Ray) Hollingsworth of Hollingsworth Tool and Die, Indianapolis. They had two daughters Lucy and Louise, and had what I would now refer to as a three-family compund on a small lake near Greenwood, Indiana on US 31. No grandchildren. I would get into trouble for feeding their beagle hounds (house dogs) scotch tape during our annual New Year's parties (bored little kid) while the adults played Eukre (sp?). Later, in the late fifties my high school buddies and I would "harvest" (some people call it fishing) the practically trained sun fish in their lake/pond. Frank Dietz's son was a Frank as was his son (who would also be about my age). They too lived in Indianapolis. If you are related to Kent Tindall I would love to know where he is (if alive). Please give him my Email address. Tell him that Jean and Jim are still married and are well and are living in the mountains of North Carolina (God's Country) near our sons and grandsons. Thanks Summary of Dietz related first cousins: Frank Dietz Robert Tindall Marie Neel Frank Owens Lucy ? Louise ? Sorry that I don't have any birth dates, etc except for my parents. What else do you want to know?
