I wanted to post a reply that I got to the same query on a different forum:
"It's good to know that someone else is interested in the Dietz family. My
connection is very distant: I am a descendant of Jacob Weidman by his first
wife, Elisabeth Overbagh, but Dietz's, Balls's, Weidman's and Dominick's
intermarried frequently.
My source is Families of Herkimer, Montgomery & Schoharie by William V.H.
Barker, available on CD from the author at 25 Wheeler St, Shelton CT 06484. He
cites "More Palatine Families" by Henry Z. Jones Jr (1991) and comes to very
similar conclusion to yours in regard to Johann Peter Deitz's wife. In
particular, he says that Anna Eva Becker is "erroneously called ENGELTE WEINER
in "The Dietz Family" by George F. Dietz, NYC 1956 [w. appendix by Stanton L.
Dietz, Athens, Ohio 1959])."
