Looking for Johann Gerhard Diers and Anna Marie (Schaefer) with family from Schweiburg, Oldenburg, Germany who left in 1890; signed Declaration of Intent papers in IL. Jackson and Noble Co. Minnesota Naturalization papers mention they lived in Benson, Woodford Co. IL about 12 - 18 months. They came to Jackson Co. MN about December 1892. They attended a Lutheran church in Osceola Co. IA. Moved to Stevens Co. MN before 1900. Other Diers names (younger in age) seemed to have followed and ended up in Jackson Co. MN, but I do not know the relationship.
Anna Marie (Schaefer) Diers (born Sept. 1858) had 2 brothers, Herman Heinrich (born 1857) and John (born 1864).
Herman married Amanda (Koklen), a widow of John Thorn, with 2 children, Gertrude and Walter were young children and grew to adulthood in Cottonwood Co., MN. John, never married, had a lumber business in Ilse, Mille Lacs Co. MN for many years into the 1930's-1940's. He still received letters from Germany in 1947. Interested in any clues.
