Hello Dale, thank you very much for your response, guess I was looking at the wrong census report, really appreciate your information. Jacob Diehl died on 25 Dec. 1874, and Elizabeth died 27 Sept. 1904. An atlas of 1875 shows the land owned by Jacob Diehl in Salt Creek Twp. of Hocking Co., Ohio, but by the time the map was published, he had died. Your connection of Eliz. and Alpha, and a brother William is really a good find. All the dates fit perfectly. My grandfather left a letter for me that I wasn't given until after his death, that mentioned a William, but I was never sure if he was a brother of Jacob or a son. So, now that's clarifyed. Elizabeth's memorial stone has a birth date of 9 June 1821, which is close enough to be the same. Please feel free to contact me directly any time. Kindest regards. Robert
