Am searching for ancestors of Joseph Henry Dihel, pronounced Dial. Born about 1866 in Springfield, Ill. Could possibly have lived in Indiana. Married in Springfield, Mo. about 1886 and lived in Polk County, Mo. Moved to Paris, Texas and died there. His mother's name was Adaline? and his stepfather was Daniel Toothman. Can not find any record of him before Missouri in 1889. Some families of Diehls, I have been told, changed their name to Dihel. Can anyone help?
