If you had'nt already tried, try searching under two other spelling variations: Dhiel or Diehl. These two being the most common, and both pronounced the same. In german, the letter H (in this case) is silent, and with the ie or ei, you pronounce the second letter. Both variations being pronounced as theenglish word "deal". In Germany, at the Worms Archives, I've found both variations used in the same family. Did not appear to matter them which one they used. Good luck with your search, hope this helped.
