My line begins with Peter Diehl who immigrated from Germany in the early 1700's. His son was Christian Diehl I (1778-1836). Christian Diehl II (1822-1875), Oliver Judson Diehl (1858-1929) and Catherine Eunice Diehl (1896-1971) (my grandmother). There were, according to my great uncle, George West Diehl, two dozen Diehls who emigrated from Germany in the 1700's and 1800's.
