My gg grandfather was Philip John (or John Philip) Diehl (later changed to Dahle) b. 1819. The 1850 census shows him in Clarion County, PA. I have been unable to figure out who his parents were. I have been told that the Diehls in this area were from Westermoreland Co. He married Catherine Dunkle in Clarion County and in 1855 they moved to CA. Their children are as follows: Paulina (my great grandmother), Lemuel, Clemons, Benton, William, Olive Elizabeth, Annie Mary, Katie Luella, and George. I have information on the descendants of Philip Dahle and Susannah Kunkle who also lived in Clarion Co. There is a Jacob married to Sarah Crousehoar. I haven't been able to tie my Philip into this family yet but feel strongly that they have to be related.
