My gggrandmother was Catherine Diehl (1820-1910). Her family is believed to have immigrated from Germany, but I do not know exacly when or from which specific area. She is reported to have first married William (?) Smith ca 1838, and had three children: Mary, John, and Jacob (my great grandfather). Following the death of William (?), she is believed to have married Philip M. Wolf, ca 1852, and had six children. She was living in Wyoming County, New York at the time of her death. There may have been some connection to a Diehl family in Canada, but I have no proof. Is there any possibility there is any connection to your Diehl Family?
