Here is an excerpt from the history of this family that will be published in a few years (if I ever finish the book sorting out the various DIEHL families)
CONRAD DIEL took the Oath of Allegiance on 5 MAY 1778. He served in the Northampton County Militia in the Revolutionary War in Company 8, 6th Battalion, as a Sergeant under Capt. ADAM DIEHL (No known relationship). He settled in Moore Twp, Northampton County, PA. Uncertain birth order of some children.
       1. JOHANN G. DEAL b. 11 MAY 1777, ?d. young?
       2. MARGARET DEAL b. 11 JUNE 1782, m. HENRY BARTHOLOMEW
       3. JOHN DEAL b. 18 APR 1784, m1 MAGDALENA WILLHIME
       4. MAGDALENA DEAL
       5. HENRY DEAL b. circa 1791
       6. JACOB DEAL
       7. ANDREW DEAL
       8. GEORGE DEAL b. circa 1796
       9. PETER DEAL b. 17 JUNE 1797, m. ELIZABETH SCHMIDT
CONRAD DEAL died in JUNE 1803 and left a will in Northampton County. BARBARA DEAL remarried to WILLIAM KELLER circa 1808-1810.
