Hello Vicki,

I hope you're still around. It's been a few years since you posted about the Diehl/Cappel family.

I'm researching my Cappel family from Homburg, Pfalz, Bayern, Germany. My g-g-grandfather's, [F. Ludwig Cappel (1791-1847)]mother was Anna Margaretha DIEHL. His father was Carl Cappel.

I also found quite a few DIEHL's related to Ludwig Cappel's 2nd wife, Dorothea Charlotta Reinheimer (1800-?). Her parents were Heinrich REINHEIMER and Philippina DIEHL.

Dorothea Reinheimer's sister, Magdalena REINHEIMER, married Wilhelm DIEHL, son of Georg and Barbara SCHMIDT DIEHL. They had another son, Johann Wilhelm DIEHL.

This Homburg (not Homberg) is located not far from the Rhine River. It was originally in an area (Alsace-Lorraine?)where the records were in French and then changed to German on the microfilms I have.

Please let me know if you are still researching and any of these names ring a bell with you.
Thank you,
Carolyn
