Betty Barnette, 68, of Kingsport, Sullivan Co TN, passed
away with her family by her side November 29, 2009 at
Holston Valley Medical Center.

Betty was born March 27, 1941, in Sullivan County to the
late Joseph and Lona Quillen Dickson, and has resided in
Sullivan County all her life. She was retired from Walmart
after 42 years of service and was of the Baptist Faith.
Betty was a loving wife for 40 years and was loved by all
who knew her.

Surviving are her husband Dewey Barnette; daughters, Betty
McPhink and Lisa Tipton, both of Kingsport, TN; grand-
children, Jonathan Campbell, Rachel Carter, Casey McPhink,
Kaitlyn McPhink, and Beverly Mullins; great-grandchild,
Cash 'Be Be' Spear; brothers, Joe Kyle Dickson and Hubert
Dickson, both of Kingsport, TN; nieces, Kim Barnette, Lisa
Barnette, and Brandy Absher; and a special cousin.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr.
Louise Brazee and the nursing staff of W3 at Holston Valley
Medical Center.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 1, 2009, from 6 p.m.
to 8 p.m., at East Lawn Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home
chapel at 8 p.m., with Pastor David Salley officiating.
Music will be provided by Mt. Carmel Singers.

Graveside services will be conducted, Wednesday, December
2, 2009, at 11 a.m., in East Lawn Memorial Park. Friends
and family are asked to assemble at 10:15 a.m. to proceed
to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry smith, Phillip
Mallory, John Carter, David Maine, James Barnette, and
J. D. Overbay. Honorary pallbearers are David Pfountz,
John Tipton, and Bill McPhink.
