Death Takes L.O. Dickson of King Hill
King Hill, Sept. 25—Lawson O. Dickson, 68, a 4-month resident of King Hill, died Saturday evening at Gooding Memorial hospital after a long illness.
He was born July 3, 1893, at Gaspereaux, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia. He attended schools there and was a ship-builder during World Ward I at Trenton, Nova Scotia. He married Elizabeth C. Crooks Jan. 23, 1912, at Trenton. He was employed by the Bangor-Aroostook (sic) railroad company for 20 years, retiring in 1941. He worked for the civil service at Pearl Harbor for two years, after which he transferred to Anchorage, Alaska, where he was stationed with the heating engineers at Elmendorf air force base for 13 years.
Mrs. Dickson died Oct. 10, 1956.
Mr. Dickson retired for the civil service in 1958 and moved to Phoenix, Ariz. after which he moved to King Hill in June to live with his daughter, Mrs. Vera Robinson.
He was a member of the Methodist church and Masonic lodge in Milo, Me.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Robinson, King Hill; Mrs. Elva Hovey, Vermillion, O[hio]; Mrs. Margaret E. Coy, South Amherst, O[hio]; and Mrs. Georgia Hoxie, Derby, Me.; two brothers, Elsworth Dickson, Toronto, Canada, and Roland Dickson, Milo; a sister, Mrs. Arthur E. Whilte, Hacensack, N.J.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call until 9 p.m. Monday at Thompson chapel, Gooding. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at Lary funeral chapel, Milo.
