Looking for information on James E. Dickson
who served in the Civil War Company L 8th
Washington D.C. was part of escort Duty for hearse. Stationed in D.C. August 13, 1864,
Annandale, Fairfax County, Va. March 16,1865,
Fairfax County House, April 13, 1865 as per 3 letters that he wrote to his Aunt Julia Gorman. Aunt Julia was married to Joe Gorman who also served in the army. Uncle Joe was down near the surrender of Lee's army in Richmond. Oliver Dickson possibly his brother or cousin was a prisoner twice badly wounded once. Lewis his brother was also a soldier. Lewis he speaks of as having gone to California. He also speaks of Uncle Fletch and a girl named Emma who is thought to be his girl friend but married someone else and moved to Illinois possibly Chicago. Aunt Julia I believe is in Pa. The family thought to be from Pa. Any info in placing J.E. Dickson with descendants and parents appreciated.
