I believe your Samuel Dickson to be a brother of my gggrandfather James Dickson who married Nancy Douglas in 1804. In a history of Rockbridge County, Virginia I found
the following:
James Dickson died in 1797
i. Samuel Dickson married Mary Tedford
ii. Patrick Dickson died in 1802
iii. Agnes Dickson married ______Telford
iv. Robert Dickson married Eliza Baker
a. Nancy
v. Nancy Dickson married Andrew Brogan 1799
vi. Patsy Dickson married Robert Templeton 1809
vii. Thomas Dickson married Sarah Paxton 1809
a. Thomas
viii. John Dickson married Agnes Paxton
(She was also married to Alfred Douglas and a brother in law to James)
ix James Dickson married Nancy Douglas in 1804 in
Rockbridge County, Virginia. She was the daughter of
James Douglas and Elizabeth ________. (This is my gggrandfather.
a. James Harvey Dixon (My grandfather)
