Hello John,
My brother and I are working on several different Dicksons, and are trying to connect them all. He is the person who is deep into the research and has a vast amount of information stored on the Dicksons, both on computer and in files and books. The one thing he does not do is use the internet, so thats where I come in. He has just recently started working on Joshep Dickson and has a lot of info. on Joseph's son Joshep but little on the rest. He like you feels that Barbra is likely Joshep sr.'s granddaughter, possibly William Agustus's child. But the only thing he has for sure is the marriage record, which states that Barbra Ann Dickson married David Hatfield Fowler, both of Hampton on August 04,1845. They were married by, A. Stewart. The witnesses were William Day and Jane Fowler. She is definately not the daughter of Joseph jr., but of added interest, William Agustus married a Margaret Davis "Fowler."
When, and if we get further info. we will let you know and hope you would share anything you might find.
