I've been seeking information about Barbara Dickson, who may be of the same family as your Joseph. She was born about 1818, probably in Hampton. She married David Hatfield Fowler (b 27 Apr 1823, French Village, Hampton, NB), who was from a Loyalist family that came from Westchester Co., NY. They had the following children: Silas (1846), Howard (1848), Samuel (1850), and Josiah (1850). Josiah is my wife's great grandfather.
Since David Fowler was a member of a Loyalist family, I've assumed the same of Barbara Dickson. I wonder if she could be the granddaughter of Joseph and Suzannah.
