Dear Danny!

We have corresponded before regarding William Dix/Dicks as a possible brother to your ancestor.

This Walter D. Dicks is a great find! Remember I am trying to prove that Sylvester J. Dicks is a son of the above William Dix/Dicks and Caroline Steffe? Well, this Walter D. is the oldest child of my Sylvester J. Dicks and Ellen Bell Molesworth. So Walter D. is my great grandfather's oldest brother. I found a Mahaska County WPA Burial Record for him that showed: Walter D. Dicks, 1881 Feb 13 - 1881 Apr 23, Buts Cem., Scot Tp. The birth record I have from Mahaska County shows he was born 5 Nov 1880. So there is a discrepancy here, but nothing I can't get over.

If possible, could you find out the exact directions to this cemetery (including highway number)? I am going to send my parents there to get a photograph.

Thanks for posting!

Sincerely,
Sue R.
