Avander Valette Dickinson (my great grandfather) was the son of Sylvester Dickinson and Harriet (Cutler) Dickinson. He was born in Amherst, Massachusetts on March 17, 1838 and is a descendant of Nathaniel Dickinson and a cousin of the poetess Emily Dickinson. He married Sarah Briggs on April 21, 1859. He resided in Michigan (Riley Township)for many years. I am searching for information prior to his move to Michigan. Some speculation that as a boy he resided with his father's sister, Amy, in Vermont. Any other info would be appreciated.
