I'm trying to find out more about this Dickinson line with 1800s English ties:
1. --- Dickinson1.
Children of --- Dickinson are:
2 i. Thomas2 Dickinson. Captain in the British Navy with Lord Collingwood at Trafalgar.
+ 3 ii. Lucy Dickinson, born 1780 in ENG; died November 01, 1862 in Barry, Pike, IL.
4 iii. Edward Dickinson.
Edward Dickinson in British Navy at the Battle of Trafalger in 1805 under Lord Nelson.
Two other possible children: Rebecca and George (b. abt 1801 died Aug. 20, 1879 in Pike Co. IL)
3. Lucy2 Dickinson (Dickinson1) was born 1780 in ENG, and died November 01, 1862 in Barry, Pike, IL. She married Edward Baker September 10, 1807 in Portsmouth, ENG. Might find Lucy's baptism record in Portsea, ENG. records on microfilm at LDS Salt Lake City. (I have not looked yet.)
The Bakers came to US with family in 1816. Lucy's father possibly an Admiral in the English Navy.
Children of Lucy Dickinson and Edward Baker are:
5 i. Edward Dickinson3 Baker, born February 24, 1811 in London, ENG; died October 21, 1861 in Ball's Bluff, VA. He married Mary Ann// April 27, 1831 in Carrollton, Greene, IL. Edward was a U.S. Senator from Oregon and a Col. in Civil War, died in Battle of Ball's Bluff. He was a friend of Lincoln and his statue is in the U.S. Capitol building.
6 ii. Alfred C. Baker, born March 15, 1813 in London, ENG; died March 13, 1895 in Barry, Pike, IL. He married Martha A. Barney August 31, 1842 in Pittsfield, Pike, IL.
7 iii. Thomas Baker, born Aft. 1816 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA; died 1846 in Carrollton, Greene, IL.
8 iv. Samuel Baker, born Aft. 1816 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA; died May 1849 in Pekin, Tazewell, IL.
9 v. Rebecca Baker, born Abt. 1820 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA; died Abt. 1890 in Sausalito, Marin, CA. She married Theodore Jerome.
