Dr. Samuel Burling Dickinson, Great Great Granddaughter

My maternal grandmother, Martha Pearl Dickinson Chandler, was the daughter of Marvin Dickinson, one of the sons of Samuel and Caroline. I was at County Line Cemetery for a funeral a couple weeks ago. Great-great grandmother Caroline's tombstone is leaning a bit, so some of my cousins who live in Yoakum plan to take some farm equipment over there and shore-up the memorial. Yes, she is the oldest person to be buried there, but not the first person buried there. Decoration Day is the second Sunday in April each year unless that falls on Easter (then it is the third Sunday). Decoration Day is a good time to meet some distant relatives and contribute to the endowment fund which maintains the cemetery. This year, 2008, Decoration will be on April 13. Hope to see more relatives there. For information on the cemetary and enjowment fund, you can contact Jocelyn Arnold at email address:

Jocelyn has many relatives addresses, and is also a relative. She would love to hear from you.

If you have more family history, I am very interested. My mother and one of her first cousins are the only living relatives left from Marvin and Calpurnia Dickinson's children's children. I would like to keep the records to pass on to the younger relatives.
