Who was the Mary Perrin who married David Dickinson, really?
I have seen her referred to as "of Hebron," which would suggest a relationship to Thomas Perrin, who settled in Hebron about 1718. However, another source states that she was married in 1732 in Roxbury (now part of Boston), Suffolk Co., Mass. A Mary Perrin had been christened there some 17 years earlier, daughter of Noah Perrin, but this Mary Perrin has always been viewed as the wife of Aaron Davis.
Has anyone verified that in fact David and Mary were married at Roxbury?
A Mary "Perring" was chr 20 Mar 1714 at Luckington, Wiltshire, daughter of Thomas and Sarah Perring. Another Mary "Perren" was chr 16 Sep 1705 at Chiddingfold, Surry, daughter of Thomas Perren. It's debatable whether either of these might have been Mary Perrin who married David Dickinson, and/or the sister of the Thomas Perrin Jr. (my ancestor) who married Jerusha Porter at Hebron 14 Feb 1738/9. My Perrins lived at the very western edge of Hebron, so at least they were in the neighborhood where David Dickinson spent his adult life.
