Col. George DICKINSON;c.1850; Carlottesville, VA

Seeking info on the family of my 3rd great grandfather, Col. George C. (Codwise?) DICKINSON. He married Kate BALDWIN of VA. and their home was called "Rougemont", formerly called "Peachylorum" after the PEACHY family who were given the property by the MERRYWEATHER family. George was a civil engineer and served the confederacy. They had children, though I only know of my ancestor, William Gilford DICKINSON. George was supposed to be from a prominent NY family and was said to be directly descended from the Knickerbocker and Van Renselleur (sp?) families. He is buried at the Episcopal Church grounds in Charlottesville.Any info appreciated! Thanks!
