Harry,

A good place to start is with your g'father's obituary [very helpful, if it exists]from Kamloops, death certificate (BC) and his birth certificate. One thing will lead to the next. English Birth Certificates are available back to 1837, but an exact birthdate and place of birth is almost essential for Harry [Henry] Dickinson. This was my father's name and he was born near Durham, England in 1886, had 12 siblings, but his father [same name was born near Leeds] in 1837. Canadian military records may also help. Kamloops newspaper is available on microfilm .... where do you live?
