The Virginia Dickinsons have a record which refers to Walter de Coen of Kenson Manor, Yorkshire, England. It names Johnn Dy Konson on Hull Yorkshire, who died in 1316. His line continued in that neighborhood until William Dickinson, in 11th generation, moved to Staffordshire, and died in 1599. His grandson, Charles Dickinson, lived in London, and died in 1632. Charles’s son, Henry, moved to Spottsylvania Co., Virginia in 1654. Henry, born 1623, had Richard, Henry, Nathaniel, and Mary. Mary died in 1753, Nathaniel died in the Revolutionary War. Richard, his heir, died in 1804.

I am a direct descendant of Richard (d. 1804), who married Ann Quarles. I would appreciate any additional information, and would be happy to share what info I have.
