My maternal grandfather was George William Dickinson.
He was born in Augusta, GA on August 29, 1898,
and died in Florence, SC in June 1971. He was married
to Margaret Corina Marsh, who lived from August 1, 1899
until August 28, 1966. They had three children -
Kathleen, b. 1925 or '26, died at the age of three
or four months; A second daughter, Joyce Norfleet
Dickinson (my mother) lived from August 11, 1927 until
August 22, 1985. Their third child was George William
Dickinson, Jr., who died at the age of 21 or 22, in 1954.
My greatgrandmother's name was Cora Daniels.
I am George Dickinson Dowis, born in Florence,
South Carolina, May 11, 1955. My son George Dickinson Dowis, Jr.
was born on November 19, 1997, in Charleston, SC.
Any additional information on the Dickinson family
would be very much appreciated.
