My husdand's mother was Leontine Dickinson, daughter of Eliada M. Dickinson b June 21, 1853 and died April 10, 1932 who married Carrie Elizabeth. Miller. Leontine was born 1898 and died 1975. Her brother Monroe Miller Dickinson was born 1901 and is still alive. His mother was also related to Samuel Chapin (b Paignton, England Oct. 8, 1598 and died Nov. 11, 1675)who founded Springfield, MA and landed in this country, I believe also in 1630. This relationship came through Carrie Miller who was a Chapin. We also have a distant cousin in town who is a direct descendant of Samuel Chapin. We were also told that there is a relationship somewhere to John Dickinson, who signed the constitution. We have information on Dickinsons going back to 725 A.D. in Normandy and showing the relationship from 725 to the parentds of Nathanial Dickinson, William Dickinson and Sarah Stacey. - this information coming from the International Heraldic Institute, ltd., Washington, DC, plus Mass. Geneology Vol III pp. 1781-82. A cousin, Monroe Dickinson, also did extensivfe research into the Dickinson's summer 1998 coming uip with the same information that we have, with a few more details regarding birth, death and marriage. We would certainly like to know any other information you may have. I have just found all this information on the Internet and am looking for more. Thanks
