Sarah Dickinson Simms had two brothers to my knowledge but that is based on circumstantial evidence: Joel Putnam Dickinson, Sr. (d. 1820 in Hancock County Georgia) and Winborn Dickinson (d. 1852 Upson County, Georgia). Both men were in Hancock and Greene Counties, Georgia as were Robert and Sarah. And there is probable intermarraige up and down the line, to wit: 1. Winborn was married to Zilpha Daniel (her grandmother being Sarah Dickinson Daniel); 2. Elizabeth Dickinson (d/o Joel Putnam Dickinson, Jr.) married Benjamin Simms of Coweta County, Georgia; and 3. Elizabeth Dickinson (d/o Clark M. Dickinson s/o Joel Putnam Sr.) married William Henry Dickinson (s/o Isaac Dickinson, s/o Winborn). I have little doubt that Sarah Dickinson Simms was from Wayne County, NC since it appears that she named at least one son for her brother-in-law, Britton. This name appears in the will of Robert Simms, Sr. of Wayne County, NC. Simms Sr. had two daughters who married Wayne County, NC Dickinsons. Information on Capt. John Dickinson is hard to come by and very sketchy.
