I have research that indicates that Captain John Dickinson (m. Susan Smith) is a probable grandson of John Dickinson of Colonial Bertie County (m. Rebecca; d. Northhampton Co. NC)and son of Daniel Dickinson. Capt. Dickinson had three children: Joel Putnam Dickinson; Winborn Dickinson; and Sarah Dickinson. Sarah married a Simms. When he died in Hancock County GA, she moved to Coweta County GA. A DAR chapter was named for her in Coweta (1903-1957).
