Andrew Dickie the gardener - Scotland

I am looking for information on Andrew DICKIE.

I have Dickies in my ancestors, although Andrew isn't a direct one, he is connected to the tree.

I am having trouble with him and wondering IF anyone could help.

I came across an 1851 Scotland Census for him or for A Andrew Dickie

States he is an apprentice gardener at Pitfour Ap Gardencis House in Old Deer.

[Googled this and didn't find anything]

He was 18 at the time and living I PRESUME on the estate, where these gardens were located. No other Dickies in the HOUSEHOLD MEMBERS.

In 1861 Scotland Census

He is NOW the MASTER - Gardener [domestic serv] at Balnakilly Bothy in Moulin, Perthshire, [googled this too but didn't really find something to latch onto]

He is listed as 27 years old, and the ONLY one listed in the Household members

He is listed as being born in 1833 at Old Deer, and 1834 at Old Deer......

So he would fit with being the son of William Dickie and Isabella Dalgarno [my DIRECT ancestors]

But I have two other Andrews in the tree also, but both of their birthdates are quite a number of years later.

I have information that he was married in 1853 to Barbara Stephen which I obtain from a GeneaNet File - owned by Chillas

However, I also have an igi record stating that he is the father of Helen Dickie born about 16 April 1851 in Old Deer, BUT, her mother is HELEN Stephens.

Also I picked up information, not sure from where, that he was married to Christian Murison.Nurrison after 1853. She was born in 1824 at Peterhead, died 11 Sept 1908 @ Ellon.

******************

So the question IS .........is Andrew Gerrard the GARDENER the one who was married Helen Stephens
Or Barbara Stephens
And/or Christian Murison/Murrison

******************

And IF the answer is yes, I wonder WHY his spouse[s] or child wasn't living with him.

Hopefully this all makes sense to the reader and someone CAN help me out.

Sincerely,

Sharon Lamb
